I am not feeling motivated enough to write the second post on matrix factorization. So to lighten things up, why not talk about KDramas? Do you like KDramas 😍 Or do you find them cliche? Please don't talk to me if you belong to the latter category. To begin with, I find the Korean language (also referred to as hangug-in in South Korea) very sweet to my ears. Most KDramas have a very good cast - they act so well that one might end up binge-watching the entire series. So here are few words that I picked up from watching many KDramas over a year. (Please don't use this as a reference, I picked up these words after hearing them many times and matching them to the subtitles)
- “Annyeonghaseyo/Annyeong“ - Hello
- "Appa/Aboji" - Father
- "Eomma/Eommoniye" - Mother
- "Kamsahamnida" - Thank you
- "Ani/Aniyo" - No
- "Gajima" - Don't go
- "Gaja" - Let's go
- "Cha" - Car/Tea
- "Naan" - I (It's the same word in Tamil!!)
- "Jal-Ja" - Sleep well
- "Hajima" - Stop it
- "jinjja" (Sounds like "shincha" when you listen to it) - Really? (or) Seriously?
- "palli, palli" - hurry, hurry
- "gwenchana/kwenchanayo" - are you okay? (or) It's okay!
- "busun suriya" - what the heck?
- "museun soriya" - what are you talking about?
- "ottoke" - How
- "mwolago" - What
- "wae" - Why
- "Omo" (Sounds like "O maa") - Oh my gosh!!
- "Wang" - King (Usually they append mama to show their respect, Wang-mama)
- "Debi" - Queen (Doesn't it sound like devi? Again usually referred to as Debi-mama)
- "Wang-seja" (or) "seja" - Crown Prince
- "kongju (mama)" - Princess
- "Yeoboseyo" - greeting when you answer a call
- "Wae-geu-rae" - What's wrong?
I guess that's all for today. Nothing else comes to my mind. Thanks for reading 🙂
